Pathetic Knuckles
Today would have been my best friend's 27th birthday. He has been dead for nearly 5 years now and I still miss him a lot. I decided to commemorate his birthday with this cover photo (which I squared out because for some reason Blogger doesn't like long things) for his face book page.

Virtual Shackles Guest Strip
I work with the creators of the Virtual Shackles and I asked to do a guest trip for them when the artist Jeremy went out of town. The way that I asked was by trying to capture the comic in a single frame.
I tried to write my own strip for a while and I couldn't really come up with something that was recent and not about Dynasty Warriors 6, which is the game that I am currently playing. Though that came out in 2007 so not the most topical. So I just let Mike, the writer, write the comic. This is the strip that I drew. I am hoping to get to do more soon.

[P5] Creative - Ghost World: Enid Pinup
I have become a participating member of a group called [P5] Creative with a bunch of my friends from Art College. I will be filling in the Thursday slot on the roster so that we can hopefully post art every day. please stop by and follow the blog. Seeing as this is the first one I will do a double post but in the future I would like to try and make it so that the things I post on [P5] Creative are only there.
I'm currently a part of a comic book club with several other members of P5; every month we read a comic/graphic novel, get together and discuss it, and those of us who are artists make fan art. For my first post on [P5] Creative I posted the fan art I did for our July book, Ghost World by Daniel Clowes. I ended up drawing the main character Enid in a pinup pose from the scene where she and Becky were talking on the phone about going into the Adam II's Sex Shop.

Fan Art Captain EO: Hooter
Laura and I went to Disneyland for our anniversary and while we were there we saw Captain EO 4 times. It is 80s music magic. This is a quick digital painting of Hooter their bumbling elephant creature who screws up everything.

Dragon Logo
A while ago a co-worker of mine asked me to do a dragon logo for him.
He wanted a Asian style dragon head breathing fire and with a 3rd eye. This is what I created for him, it went through a couple of iterations which I won't bore you with, But I am pretty happy with how it came out, I wish I could do some cooler things with the flames but outlines on flames are kinds boring, flames are cool when you add color. I really love working in Illustrator I get such clean work out of it and there is so much control I need to do more work in it for fun.

Mosaic Project 2 the Vikinging
It is once again time for Benicia Artists Open Studios which is may 5th and 6th, and this year they are doing the Mosaic Project again where they will be raffling off 144 little panels created by some artists in the community. Laura and I created panels for the exhibition. The tiles will be
Last year I made an octopus, this year after buying some art from Miss Monster of a viking berserker I was inspired to make my own viking. I decided to use this paint set that I have had for a really long time and it didn't go quiet as planned. I think I ended up with a cool little tile, but if I had it to do over again I would do a few things differently and use the paint in a different way. I need to try and paint more. Maybe a painting every 3 months.

Leprachaun-Dragon
Yesterday at work right before I was getting ready to leave Jace asked me to draw a Leprechaun Dragon. I asked what is that? He said I don't know you figure it out. So I drew this before I left for the day.
After I drew it I realized I spelled Leprechaun wrong, so I decided when you combine Leprechaun's and Dragons you change the 'e' to an 'a.'

Hunger Games Fan Art: Katnis Up a Tree
I haven't done any Fan Art in a while, I don't ever feel I can do some one else's work justice, however, it is really fun and I want to do more, I want to try and do some Fan Art for all of the books I read from now on. Laura and I recently read the Hunger Games book series so I hope to do some more from the next two books, I will try and not fill them with spoilers.
I did this one today because It is Laura's birthday and she wanted some Hunger Games art so Happy Birthday Baby!
