It has been a while since I have posted here... or anywhere on the internet, life has gotten busy and overwhelming in a hurry. But I have a free day and I have been lusting to make art for fun and for frivolity. I thought I would come back with something that I've been excited about, SKYRIM, it is awesome and I wake up early most days to play it. So far I have a Nord character named Graphthor, he like big axes and dislike bandits and draug. When fighting dragons he finds a bow to be a waste of time and just stands at their mouth getting burned with fire while he wails on them with his axe. He wants to a thief, but he isn't very good right now.

The Magic Cat
I discovered the other day a book i wrote and illustrated when I was in Kindergarten called The Magic Cat. I believe it was for the young authors program, something that I hope they still do.
After reading it I want to redraw the who thing just for fun. But I felt it deserved it's own post.
Here it is in it's entirety I hope that you enjoy it.

The master didn't know that the cat had a magic coin.
So the cat went on journey to find the magic map. This gives magic.
The cate found a friend and his name was Gecko. They went to find the magic map.
The cat and Gecko found a one-eyed monster. They Knew that one-eyed monsters eat people.
They said "No, wait a minute. We'll get some food for you to eat."
They also found a new friend whose name was Mouse and said "Let's have war!"
They went on with the journey for the magic map and the magic house and the magic bat and the magic ring and the magic cloak.
They went to find the fire plant. Whoever touched it had fire power!
They had a new friend Megaman. They had to climb Glass Mountain.
They Climbed Glass Mountain and went in a cottage on top. They found all the magic things.
They sold some of the magic stuff to get rich.

B Too Late
So I have decided to do a series of paintings of celebrities with mustaches/ facial hair as skulls. I was looking at my mustache mug for inspiration and then I realized who would be awesome, Mario (he isn't on my mug, only real people).

Mario Pumpkin Painting (PART I)
Last year I painted a portrait on a pumpkin and it sparked my new interest I have with acrylic painting. I like the idea of painting things on non traditional canvases and things that are temporary. It is also more fun to paint a pumpkin as apposed to gutting it and carving it, though I don't get any kick ass roasted pumpkin seeds so there is a trade off.
A while ago Laura and I went to the San Jose Art Museum to see a show about Robots (which had some great pieces but we both thought it wasn't laid out that well in the space the museum had). When we were there we went to the gift shop we found this book "I Am 8-Bit" (which Jason is borrowing at the moment, i wonder if he knows he still has it?) which was filled with fine art based off of old arcade and Nintendo games which Laura and I found to be really fascinating, and sparked an interest in me to create my own video game based art work.
So I painted Mario and a boo on the pumpkin figuring it seemed more Halloweeny then simply having Mario on the pumpkin alone.

If I can find the time i want to paint Princess Peach with a Boo looking up her skirt on the other side.
