1980s Grandpa Portrait
Today would have been my grandfather's 84th birthdhay. So I decided to draw him as he looked in the 80s, with a perm.

Lighting Test Jail
Wanted to start getting back into digital painting, I set out with no real goals, though I think now I want to try and play with lighting and atmosphere and color.

Halloween Costume Bebop and Rocksteady
Happy Halloween!
Here is the sketch I made for Laura and my costumes as Bebop and Rocksteady, for our TMNT costume pizza party.
I think it turned out pretty accurate.

Pathetic Knuckles
Today would have been my best friend's 27th birthday. He has been dead for nearly 5 years now and I still miss him a lot. I decided to commemorate his birthday with this cover photo (which I squared out because for some reason Blogger doesn't like long things) for his face book page.

Virtual Shackles Guest Strip
I work with the creators of the Virtual Shackles and I asked to do a guest trip for them when the artist Jeremy went out of town. The way that I asked was by trying to capture the comic in a single frame.
I tried to write my own strip for a while and I couldn't really come up with something that was recent and not about Dynasty Warriors 6, which is the game that I am currently playing. Though that came out in 2007 so not the most topical. So I just let Mike, the writer, write the comic. This is the strip that I drew. I am hoping to get to do more soon.

[P5] Creative - Ghost World: Enid Pinup
I have become a participating member of a group called [P5] Creative with a bunch of my friends from Art College. I will be filling in the Thursday slot on the roster so that we can hopefully post art every day. please stop by and follow the blog. Seeing as this is the first one I will do a double post but in the future I would like to try and make it so that the things I post on [P5] Creative are only there.
I'm currently a part of a comic book club with several other members of P5; every month we read a comic/graphic novel, get together and discuss it, and those of us who are artists make fan art. For my first post on [P5] Creative I posted the fan art I did for our July book, Ghost World by Daniel Clowes. I ended up drawing the main character Enid in a pinup pose from the scene where she and Becky were talking on the phone about going into the Adam II's Sex Shop.

Fan Art Captain EO: Hooter
Laura and I went to Disneyland for our anniversary and while we were there we saw Captain EO 4 times. It is 80s music magic. This is a quick digital painting of Hooter their bumbling elephant creature who screws up everything.

Dragon Logo
A while ago a co-worker of mine asked me to do a dragon logo for him.
He wanted a Asian style dragon head breathing fire and with a 3rd eye. This is what I created for him, it went through a couple of iterations which I won't bore you with, But I am pretty happy with how it came out, I wish I could do some cooler things with the flames but outlines on flames are kinds boring, flames are cool when you add color. I really love working in Illustrator I get such clean work out of it and there is so much control I need to do more work in it for fun.
